November and December...

November was Grayson's first birthday. He loved his toys, books and especially his CAKE!

Brynn is the best helper in the world...

Brian's sister and family came to our house for Christmas this year. So we hosted all the festivities.

Grayson was not a fan of Santa but did enjoy all the wrapping paper.

Oh time flies...

Well there's nothing like playing blog catch up for the last oh... 5 months I've missed. Oops.

I don't even have any good excuses.

So it's not a very complete summary of the past few months. But it'll have to do.

I'm so far behind...

First... I have completely neglected my blog so far this year. Oh well. Second... Yesterday we got Grayson a new toy and he loves it, so I had to post the video. You can see everytime he gets excited and throws his arms around. It's so cute!

Grayson Samuel Thomas...

I was just looking at my blog and realized it said I was 44 weeks pregnant... not true. So here's the update. My little guy was born about 3 weeks early, on November 13th. He came home weighing 5lbs 10 oz and now at about 6wks weighs 10lbs 8oz. He already looks different than any of his pictures but I'll post these anyways.

How to give your pregnant wife a heart attack...

Step 1: Tell your wife you're cutting off parts of a tree and use words and phrases like "hopefully", " its supposed to", and "well it should go like this."
Now all I can think about is Americas Funniest Home Videos when some guy says, "Oh this tree will fall to the left exactly like I planned." And it falls to the right and crushes a car or a house or something.

Step 2: Bring out a 100 year old ladder and fully extend it against the tree while saying, "You might need to hold this for me, but let me try it first."

Step 3: After climbing said ladder, continue climbing like a monkey higher up the tree until your laying fully extended on a branch. While your daughter gives you advice like, "Don't let your hands get sweaty" and "maybe you should swing your legs around and hook them together."

Step 4: While bracing yourself with one hand, use a hacksaw to slowly cut through the branch, and occacsionally take breaks to reposition yourself.

Step 5: Once the branch is ready to fall DO NOT warn anyone so that the sound of the breaking tree limbs crashing onto the other ladder catches everyone completely off guard.
(The extra ladder is there to stop the branch from pulling down the power line of course.)

Finally: Shimmy your way down the tree, until you almost touch the ladder and just guess where to put your feet until you find the ladder and climb down. And finish by saying, "That was easier than I thought, I think I'll climb back up and take care of the rest of them."

So, I just went outside and he has found a new perch and is attempting to cut off even more branches... oh heavens.
But I do appreciate the yard work being done so I'll just have to learn to control my blood pressure. :)
